Welcome to the first step of your adventure, we’re so glad you’re joining us! To begin, complete the above registration form and check out. Your therapist dungeon-master (DM), E Merten, will reach out to you to set up an intake appointment to guide you in identifying your interpersonal goal for the weekend and creating a character to support you in exploring it!
Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) is a table-top role-playing game (TTRPG) where participants take on the persona of fictional characters and go on improvised adventures in a fantastic world. This two-day therapeutic workshop combines the collaborative fun of D&D with the guidance of a trained therapist to support each participant in creating their own personalized character based around their own specific interpersonal goal. Within the safer framework of exploratory play, participants will have opportunities to practice teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and self-reflection in a fantasy world while also discovering ways to integrate that learning and growth into their everyday life. All necessary materials will be provided; previous TTRPG experience helpful but not required!
Along the way, you’ll uncover the emotional armor life has forged for you—understanding its strengths, its rigidity, and taking new paths towards the treasures sought in life. Through exploratory play, improvised quests, and collaborative storytelling, you’ll explore themes of identity, communication, problem-solving, and emotional resilience—all within the safety and support of a therapeutic frame.

Workshop Refund Policy
Payment in full is due at the time of registration in order to reserve a spot in the workshop.
A full refund will be issued for cancellations made at least five (5) business days prior to the scheduled start of the workshop. Cancellations made fewer than five (5) business days in advance are not eligible for a refund, and the registration fee will be forfeited. To cancel your registration, please email clinicalservices@advancepsychotherapy.org.
